The Director of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Stephen Odebero addressing first year students.
On 5th September 2023, first-year students were duly advised to attend all lectures and sit for their assessments in time. This advice was provided during their interactions with the University’s Division of Academic and Students Affairs as part of the orientation program that officially commenced on Saturday, 2nd September 2023, and concluded on Friday, 8th September 2023. The team conducting these sessions consisted of Directors from the respective academic sections and Deans of Schools, and it was led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of the division, Prof. Hussein Golicha. During his address to the students, Prof. Golicha emphasized the importance of attending lectures and adhering to the schedule for Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs) and main examinations as set by the University.
He remarked, “Stick to your target and do not let the many controllable obstacles stop you from success,” while reminding the students that great opportunities lie ahead. Furthermore, Prof. Stephen Odebero, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, congratulated the students on their outstanding performance in the previous year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE). Many of you performed exceptionally well, and you are all here.
