Welcome to the Student Accommodation Section
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology offers limited on campus accommodation to both male and female students. Currently, the university has 5 hostels. Room allocation is done on a first come first served basis through online booking. However, special consideration is also given to first year students, students who are differently abled, student with medical issues, and student leaders. A room is booked and occupied for a period of one academic year, and payment is therefore charged for one academic year.

There are Rules and Regulations that govern the Halls of residence and each resident is furnished with a copy on checking in. Residents are expected to adhere to these rules and regulations in order to have peace and harmony during their stay. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents will be compelled to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations that have been put in place for the prevention of spread of the pandemic.
Accommodation services are managed by the hostels officer. Each hostel is supervised by a housekeeper, who works together with a warden and the halls representative to ensure smooth running of the hostel. There are hostel attendants who clean the common areas within the hostels areas, whereas the resident students clean inside their rooms.
Private Hostel Accomodation
Due to limited accommodation on campus most of MMUST students reside in private hostels near the university. These hostels are inspected and accredited by the Students Affairs Department, spearheaded by the Dean of Students, Wardens and the Hostels Officer before we allow our students to reside there.
